THE PROBLEM

Every agency offers a free website audit. Almost none of them give you one.

What you actually get is a form, a wait, a PDF built from a template, and a call in your calendar. The audit isn't the product — it's the bait. And a business owner who just wanted to know whether their website was any good ends up on a sales call instead of getting an answer.

That bothered me, because the underlying question is a reasonable one and it has a real answer. Most of what makes a site findable is checkable in seconds by a machine. There is no good reason to charge a meeting for it.

WHAT I BUILT

A tool that answers the question first and asks for nothing until after.

01 — AUDIT

The things that actually move your website’s visibility

Titles, meta descriptions and headings. Page structure. Mobile experience. Site speed. Content clarity. Search visibility. Not a hundred metrics designed to look thorough, just the handful that decide whether a page can be found and understood, scored consistently every time.

02 — SCORE

One number, out of 100, with nothing hidden behind it

A score is only useful if it's reproducible. The same site scores the same way twice, and the number is on screen before anything is asked of you. No progress bar theatre, no "your results are being prepared."

03 — REPORT

Three fixes, ranked, in plain English

The full report lands in your inbox with your three biggest problems and what to do about each one. Ranked, because a list of twenty things you should do is the same as a list of zero things you will do.

04 — BUILD

One person, AI-assisted, running unattended

Built and shipped by me, and it has run on its own since. That's the part worth paying attention to if you're wondering whether I could build something for your business: this is what a small custom tool looks like when it's finished, documented and left alone.

THE RECEIPTS

A score is not a strategy. What makes this tool useful isn't the number, it's the ranking underneath it. Knowing your site scores 62 changes nothing. Knowing which three things to fix first, and in what order, is the whole point.

THE RULE I BUILT ON

One rule, and everything else followed from it: never gate the number.

The moment you put the score behind an email address, you've turned an honest tool into a lead capture form with extra steps, and everyone can tell. So the score appears first, for free, whether or not you ever give me your address. The email only buys you the longer report.

That costs me leads. It's still the right call, for the same reason I'll tell a prospect their website is fine and they don't need to hire me: the trust is worth more than the conversion.

WHY THIS ONE IS HERE

I'm not going to pretend this tool has thousands of users. It doesn't.

It's here because it's the only thing in this portfolio you can test yourself, right now, without taking my word for anything. Every other case study asks you to believe a description of work you can't see. This one is thirty seconds and a URL away, and if it's rubbish you'll know immediately.

That's the honest version of proof. A usage number would tell you how good I am at marketing a free tool. Running the thing tells you whether I can build software that works, which is the actual question if you're thinking about having me build something for your business.

WHAT NEXT

Got a repetitive job that a small tool could take off your desk?

Book a twenty-minute call and I'll tell you straight what it would take, including if the honest answer is that you don't need to hire me for it.
